I just found a copy of the Annals of Ulster in Irish and Latin. The original text seems to confirm our assumptions that we are from Oscar, son of Art, son of Flaherty, son of Donn Carrach Mag Uidhir.
Original Irish Text: Matha mac Osgair Megh Uidhir, quieuit in Christo, decimo quarto Kalendas Nouembris, a derbrathair idon Seaan mac Oscair do marbadh isin lo cetna.
English Translation: Matthew, son of Oscar Mag Uidhir, rested in Christ on the 14th of the Kalends of November, and his brother John was killed on the same day.

March 14, 2012 - We now have a DNA Project of our own. We invite all McOsker, McCusker, MacCosker males to join our project. Visit us at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/McOsker/
March 12, 2012 - We just received our initial DNA results, and it is very exciting. We do genetically match a project called Airghialla_Mag_Uidhi. These are descendants of Airghiallal born around 960 AD, and Airghiallal is the ggggg-grandfather of Donn Carrach Maguire . (see line 100 on the Ancient Lineage page of this website)
Better is the fact that we also match several different Maguire men in this project, and statistically we share a common ancestor with these men about 28 generations ago. Remember that we believe our family McOsker split from Maguire around the year 1350 (660 yrs ago). 28 generations ago could be anywhere from 560 to 700 years ago.
